Practical, trauma-informed support for workers dealing with termination, harassment, discrimination, or poisoned workplaces.
Losing your job or facing harassment at work is not just “an HR issue” – it affects income, health, and dignity. BCL Workplace Intelligence helps Ontario employees understand their rights and make clear, practical decisions about next steps.
Within the permitted paralegal scope, we focus on:
– Termination and constructive dismissal disputes
– Harassment, discrimination, and poisoned-work-environment complaints
– Accommodation issues (disability, family status, gender identity and other Code-protected grounds)
– Reprisal for raising safety or human rights concerns
– Employment-standards and WSIB issues connected to your job loss
Our approach is straightforward: listen carefully, explain your options in plain language, and help you choose a strategy that protects your rights and manages risk.

Initial screening (by form or email).
You provide a short summary of what happened, key dates, and any urgent deadlines or limitation periods.
This helps us see quickly whether your issue might fit within paralegal scope.

Scope check and fit.
We confirm whether your matter appears to be within Ontario paralegal scope and check for conflicts of interest. If it’s outside scope or we’re not the right fit, we’ll tell you directly and, where possible, point you to other resources.

Paid consultation (if you wish to proceed).
We meet by phone or video. We review your documents, explain your legal options, and outline potential costs and timelines. You decide how far you want to go.

Evidence review & strategy
If you retain BCL, we take a closer look at your documents, clarify the key issues, and map out a strategy tailored to your goals and risk tolerance. You stay in control of the decisions at every step.

Attempt resolution without a claim
Where appropriate, we try to resolve the dispute without starting a court or tribunal case. This can include demand letters, negotiations, or settlement discussions. The focus is a fair, practical resolution that reduces delay, cost, and stress.

Civil action or tribunal application (if needed)
If settlement isn’t possible, and your matter is suitable for paralegal representation, we can commence a claim in the appropriate forum (for example, Small Claims Court or the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario). If your case requires a lawyer or a higher court, we will explain why and, if you wish, help you connect with a lawyer.
Please complete this form only if you already have an active LSRS referral number naming Brian Cahill.
Submit the form with as much detail as you can. A complete form helps us:
– Understand what happened in your workplace
– See whether your issue is primarily a termination, harassment, discrimination, reprisal, or standards/WSIB problem
– Confirm whether it appears to fall within paralegal scope
If, after reviewing your form, we are not able to assist (for example, because your matter is outside paralegal scope or there is a conflict), we will let you know so that you can use your LSRS referral with another legal professional.
